The BIOST3 research group is part of the Statistics Section of the Department of Genetics, Microbiology and Statistics of the UB, it focuses its research on applying methods of computational statistics and bayesian statistics to biological systems, with special emphasis on clinical data, bioinformatics and biodiversity.
We often collaborate in the data analysis of large experiments carried out by companies, thus extracting much more useful information. Within the research group, different competitive research projects, research contracts, doctoral theses and technology transfer to companies and society (software, articles, patents, etc.) are carried out. We also collaborate with many research groups.
Members of the group: Antonio Monleón, Javier Méndez, Clara I. Rodríguez, Carlos Crespo, Ruth Guilanya, Ricardo Borja, Pere López, Martín Ríos, Santiago Ríos, Joaquin Justel, Alejandro Aldaya, Nicolas Ayala and Isabel Oliva.
"The statistical analysis of large volumes of biological data is of great interest to the pharmaceutical, nutritional, food, chemical and environmental industries, as well as to research centers and public administrations!
